Hello everyone, how do you do today?
I've known this interesting community for a long time, but this is my first time posting here. During my last picnic with friends, I accidentally discovered an abandoned house on top of a mountain. I thought it would be appropriate to share about that house here. And hope that you will like it.
Where is it located?
It is a number of housing units located on the top of the Hai Van Pass. When I had a picnic with my friends there, I was curious to know what was at the top of the mountain, so me and some friends hiked up the trail leading to the top of the mountain.
The higher we went, the denser the fog became and the colder it got. Some of us have found it difficult to breathe because of the thin and foggy air. We made several stops along the way. The distance from the parking lot on the pass to the top of the mountain is about 3km, but it took us about 45 minutes to hike up.
Although it was a tough journey, the higher up we got, the more excited we got to discover interesting things. In the thick fog, we didn't see anything out of visibility about 20m. However we still discovered interesting plants here that we could not find in the lower places. Even though we had reached the highest point of the mountain, we couldn't see anything around but the clouds flying right in front of us. I think it will be beautiful there on sunny and less foggy days. I will definitely go back there in the future to explore that place on a sunny day.
What did we discover at the top of the mountain?
When we reached the top of the mountain, we discovered a radar station which I really don't know how high it is because of the fog. And in the surrounding area are small abandoned houses. I guess this used to be the residence of the operators of this radar station. But for some reason, they left this place behind for many years. These houses were severely degraded, moss growing on the walls and overgrown trees around.
It's sad to see these houses abandoned. But it is possible that for many reasons they are abandoned despite the beautiful nature around. I don't know exactly what the reasons are but I guess they could be its remoteness and inclement weather. The journey from the foot of the mountain to here can take hours. In addition, inclement weather is also a big obstacle. This season, for example, the fog is so thick that our visibility is limited and it's difficult to breathe. Not to mention, I think in the hurricane season, the rain will be very heavy and the wind will be very strong there since it is a mountain located right next to the ocean. Anyway, it's a pity to see them abandoned and degraded like this.
