Beerseba Independent Chapel was originally built in 1805 and rebuilt 35 years later. The land upon which it was built was eventually donated to the congregation in 1925.
Although now standing on a main trunk road in Wales, it is quite remote from any village let alone town. I guess it must have served the local farming community.
By 2002 this chapel had fallen into disuse.
I guess a jobsworth has to do as he is instructed, whether it is relevant or not.
At the rear of the building a simple living area for the minister, 1 up 1 down, alas the steps to the upper floor are long gone
Through the broken windows I thought I would have to navigate, but moving round the chapel the door was open to all. Nature reclaiming the building.
The organ and centre pulpit, the religious texts almost childlike in their simplicity,
Above the ministers head the remains of an inscription, translates literally as “love me”.
So that’s it short but very sweet.
