Hi Hive
Heres a post from a visit a few of us had to an abandoned RAF base, Church Fenton. As its name suggests it is located near the village of Church Fenton which is about 6 miles from Selby, North Yorkshire.
The base was opened in 1937 and used during the second world war.
The whole site is approx 260 acres. Not sure how much these old building take but most is now used for the airport.
After the war it was used for flight training with various bodies using it.
It closed in 2013 and the airfield is now Leeds East Airport but the old RAF base and buildings has been left to rot
Here are some images from the site.
The kitchen
Anyone fancy a meal from here
The Bar
Or whats left of them
When nature took over
Plants growing inside out the floor is not something you see everyday
Decay
As you can see the place is literally rotting away with mould and god knows what growing on the walls.
Guessing someone needed some new floor board for there home and they were all gone
The old electrical and pump room. Nearly all the copper has been taken from the place. In areas literally ripped out from the walls and floor leaving gaping holes where it use to be.
