This house has been boarded and abandoned since 2016, according to street view on Google maps. Unfortunately information on it is very limited past that. I found a city document from 2017 about heritage in the city, that had the addressed listed. But only as having heritage Designation Potential and no further info. I also checked development plans for the area and despite a mass amount of projects planned all around it, there is none for its address or property.
It is odd that it has been sitting abandoned since 2016 with no heritage protections and with no development plans, considering the city's welcome sign is literally in it's front yard. What city would want an abandoned house beside the welcome to the city sign? But the strangeness doesn't end there, the whole layout of the house is unlike any other I have seen! Lots of large wood doorways that you find in older homes in Ontario, but half of them had literally been blocked off with plywood (visibly done while being lived in). Rooms partially walled off to create small side rooms, mass amounts of decay in some rooms with others left in near pristine condition, laundry set ups in gorgeous front entry ways, and so much more!
All around it was a strange but great explore that raises many questions!
