As the Spring Festival gets closer, I want to stock up on some New Year goods. After thinking it over, I still choose to go to the supermarket. Online shopping is fast and convenient—you can place an order with one click, enjoy discounts, and have everything delivered to your door. But the quality is sometimes hard to judge, and it lacks the reassurance of picking things out by hand.
In a supermarket, you can see and touch everything. More importantly, you can truly feel the holiday spirit. The red decorations, busy shelves, and lively atmosphere make the festival feel real. When I was a child, New Year meant new clothes, candies, melon seeds, and peanuts. These classics are still here today, but the choices are much richer now—pistachios, pine nuts, pecans, cashews, and all kinds of snack gift boxes. Just browsing is fun.
I don’t really like carrying heavy bags, especially in thick winter clothes. Still, I enjoy walking through the aisles, comparing products, and choosing at my own pace. The process of shopping itself is part of the New Year experience.
Buying New Year goods online is convenient and affordable. Shopping in person offers better quality control and a stronger sense of ritual. Each has its own advantages. As the holiday feeling grows lighter year by year, choosing New Year goods by hand brings a real sense of joy—and that simple happiness is one of the most meaningful ways to welcome the festival.
