早起，烙了发面紫薯饼，炒了红椒肉片，还煮了小米粥和水煮蛋 —— 紫薯饼做得格外成功，紫薯泥里掺了奶粉和温水，搅得细腻柔滑，团成小球当馅料包进面皮里，吃起来绵密甜香，颜色粉紫诱人，口感也软糯恰到好处。出门时还带了串阳光葡萄，这阵子总爱吃它，性平温和不挑人。试过不少葡萄品种，巨峰的肉质偏软少了点嚼劲，玫瑰葡萄又甜得发腻，红提吐籽太麻烦，唯独阳光葡萄合心意，果肉紧实咬着脆，大多时候连籽都不用吐，清爽又方便。
上班路上偶遇了一只通体漆黑的小狗，蜷在两辆停着的汽车中间的空隙里，脑袋朝着太阳晒得暖洋洋。我停下脚步盯着它看，它也抬着小脑袋望过来，眨了眨圆溜溜的眼睛，还轻轻晃了晃头，两只耷拉着的耳朵跟着一颠一颠的，模样憨得可爱。忍不住琢磨：这是只流浪狗吗？视线平移，旁边另一辆车底下，还趴卧着一只白毛毛的小狗，安安静静的 —— 那是它的小伙伴吗？
Early morning, I made leavened Purple Sweet Potato Pancake, stir-fried pork with red peppers, millet porridge and boiled eggs. The Purple Sweet Potato Pancake were great. I mixed the puree with milk powder and warm water, stirred it smooth, then rolled it into small balls for the filling. It tasted soft and sweet, looked pretty pale purple, and had just the right texture—soft and glutinous. Before going out, I took a bunch of Sunlight Grapes. I’ve loved eating them lately; they’re mild and good for everyone. I’ve tried many grapes: Kyoho are a bit soft (not chewy enough), Rose Grapes too sweet, Red Globe a hassle to spit seeds. Only Sunlight Grapes work for me—their flesh is firm and crisp, and most of the time you don’t need to spit seeds. They’re fresh and easy.
On my way to work, I saw a little all-black dog. It was curled in the gap between two parked cars, its head toward the sun to get warm. I stopped to look at it, and it looked up at me too. It blinked its round eyes, shook its head gently, and its floppy ears bounced. It looked cute and clumsy. I wondered: Is this a stray dog? Then I looked over and saw a fluffy white dog lying quietly under a nearby car. Is that its little friend?
