The ziplining in the Forest Adventure Park of Iya Valley reminds me of the Chocolate Hills in the Philippines. I had some exciting ziplining rides there in the Adventure Park. The surrounding chocolate-like mounds are a unique site to behold as well, as you can see from my photos in this post.
Chocolate Hills is a famous attraction located in the town of Carmen, which is about an hour and a half away from the city of Tagbilaran, Bohol's capital. Bohol is an island province known for its stunning natural wonders. The geological formation of over a thousand hills on the island resembles chocolate mounds, hence its name. In my experience, I initially observed greenish chocolates (perhaps mint or macha flavour ;)) in the light, and then brownish ones around sunset.
Once you arrive at the Chocolate Hills Complex, you'll be greeted with a panoramic view of the hills, which is absolutely breathtaking. You can climb up the stairs to the viewing deck, which is around 200 steps, or you can opt to take a ride on a motorbike to reach the top.
It was hot and humid in the area, so I was sweating like a pig as I walked up, but the unobstructed view of the hills was well worth the effort. The changing weather that day provided amazing vistas of a dramatic sky and clouds, as well as a spectacular rainbow later on.
Nearby lies the Chocolate Hills Adventure Park. It offers a wide range of exciting activities and adventure experiences for visitors to enjoy. You will see some of them from the sign I took photo of.
One of the main attractions at the park is the zip line. We did two different ziplinings, the "Wave Runner" and the "Suislide". The Wave Runner is a 120-meter long zip line that zigzags its way down the hillside, while the Suislide is a 550-meter long zip line that takes you on a thrilling ride above the forest canopy. I loved the feeling of soaring through the air and meanwhile taking in the beautiful views of the hills and the surrounding countryside.
I also tried the bike zip "The Rush". It's a combination of biking and ziplining, with me riding a bike over a suspended cable. This one was scarier than the others since I was continually worried that my bike's wheel might fall off the wire on the way.XD Despite all of my mental images of dangling positions, I finally made it to the other side.:)
If you're looking for something more relaxing, the Chocolate Hills Adventure Park has a butterfly dome where you can observe different species of butterflies up close. They also offer horseback riding tours that take you through the scenic countryside surrounding the park.
