I've always been fascinated by light, as have many other photography enthusiasts. As a result, I frequently pay close attention to light sources such as the sun, stars, and fires. Speaking of fire, I'd like to share some fireworks photos with you today. They were inspired by this week's Photo Quest from Qurator: Sparks.
These photos were taken along the Meuse/Maas river in Maastricht, the Netherlands, where people were celebrating the New Year. It's entertaining to watch all of these dancing particles with the magical lights. :) Playing with the camera settings was fun too.
Because I didn't have a tripod with me at the time, some of the long-exposure shots were a little blurry. I thought they were meh photos and didn't care for them. When I look at them now, however, the atmosphere returns to me, and I can feel the warm sparks and the cold night with my icy fingers (holding the camera still for too long in the freezing wind)...
It gave me even more joy as I was post-processing them just now. :D I hope you enjoy these sparks too! 🎉 🎉
