ここで気持ちを緩めないようにしながら、再び歩きます。
このエリアは岩がむき出しになっていました。
山側の壁面は、岩が迫ってくるようでした。
景色が変化に富んでいて、山を登る喜びがあります。

ここまでくれば、本当にもうすぐ山頂です。
ここにも看板が立っていました。
初級コースが、現在は山のメンテナンスのため通行止めであることを伝えています。
メンテナンス工事の関係者の方は、こんな場所まで看板を運んできたのです。
それは本当にお疲れ様でした、と伝えたいです。
The geology of this mountain is interesting.
The rocks are piled up like layers.
I'm not familiar with geological formations, but it's similar to columnar joints.
Columnar joints are formed by slowly cooling and solidifying lava that has flowed out of a volcano.
Mt. Ontake seen from the observatory is a volcano.
It looks very far from this mountain, but it's close on a global scale.
Maybe it has something to do with the eruption of Mt. Ontake long ago.
この山の地質は面白いです。
岩が層のように重なって隆起しています。
私は地層に詳しくありませんが、柱状節理に似ています。
柱状節理は、火山から流れ出た溶岩が、ゆっくり冷え固まってできるものです。
展望台から見えた御嶽山は火山です。
この山とはとても離れているように見えますが、地球の規模で考えたら近いとも言えます。
もしかして遥か昔の御嶽山の噴火と関係あるのでしょうか。

実は、御嶽山は、この記事を書いている2022年3月にも火山活動が観測されています。
付近の街では、火山性地震が数回発生しています。
御嶽山は、2014年9月27日に大きな噴火がありました。
山頂付近にいた登山客が巻き込まれ、多くの犠牲者が出ました。
今登っているこの山は火山ではありません。
しかし、山に登るということは、自然の災害と隣り合わせです。
そのことをいつも頭に入れておかなければいけません。

昨日のワクチン接種3回目からなんとか立ち直りつつあります。
昨夜は38℃近い熱が出て、だいぶ悪夢にうなされました。
熱が36℃台に下がったのですが、倦怠感が凄まじい。
今は風邪薬（総合感冒薬）を飲んで、かなり良い状態ですが、やれやれ。
