“The River of Stars Part 16"
I created this cut paper art, background, and translated it. This background mountain's model is Mt. Yotei in Hokkaido, Japan. Mt. Yotei also called Ezo Fuji because it looks like Mt. Fuji. Ezo means Hokkaido. It is a beautiful and powerful mountain. This scene is a sad but beautiful moment. I used to have a Siberian husky who often howled at night especially to the full moon. Her voice was very beautiful. Her name was Elf. Every time she howled, I felt very touched. I will never forget her beautiful voice.
These days, my husband often hears coyotes, when he takes our dog out at night. I rarely hear them too. Their howling is a little bit higher frequency than wolves or big dogs. Therefore, I feel a little bit mysterious. However, their howling is also very beautiful.
For this scene, of course, it is sad because the wolf-Kekouani's kids are missing. The full moon beams moonlight is shining on the mountain and it looks like the mountain is crying for Kekouani. Additionally, the season is changing every day little by little. I always feel sad when the temperature is getting cooler and cooler at the end of fall. Hopefully, this story isn't going to be too sad...

切り絵と背景を作成し、物語の翻訳をしました。この背景画の山のモデルは北海道の羊蹄山です。羊蹄山は蝦夷富士とも呼ばれるだけあって、富士山によく似ています。とても綺麗で神聖な山です。物悲しいですがきれいなシーンです。むかし、実家でハスキー犬を飼っていました。満月の夜は特に月に向かって遠吠えしていました。遠吠えしている時はとても感動したものです。とても綺麗な声でした。名前はエルフ。彼女の遠吠えの声は一生忘れないと思います。
犬を外に連れ出す時、わたしの主人はしょっちゅうコヨーテの遠吠えを聞いています。わたしはたまにしか聞けません。コヨーテは狼や犬の遠吠えよりももっと甲高い声質です。ちょっとミステリアスですが、綺麗な声です。
このシーンは狼のケコウアニの子どもたちがいなくなってしまったシーンなので、もちろん悲しい場面です。背景の満月の光が山の斜面に注いでいて、ケコウアニのために山が泣いているようにも見えます。それに加えて季節も少しずつ寒くなり変化しています。秋が深まり日に日に寒い日が増えてくると物悲しくなりますね。物語が悲しくなりすぎないことを願います…。
