Yesterday was international women's day and we all took time to celebrate the women in our lives. It's a beautiful thing. I applaud everyone on this earth at this moment, the young, middle-aged and old. We are all embodiments of power.
It's interesting to find the theme of this week is celebrating a woman in our life. Personally, every woman I have met has played an important role. Either in encouraging me to be better or teaching me a valuable life lesson. They have all made a significant impact on my life. I celebrate every one of them.
Nonetheless, if I were to choose one person at the top of my list it would be no other than my mom. My mom and I got closer over the years because I can remember when I was little I used to think she didn't love me. That thought created a lot of conflict between us. It wasn't until I grew older that I realized I was mistaken.
I remember this one time, I had just gained admission into the University and I was going through my clearance process. My clearance was delayed so I couldn't apply to stay in the school hostel with other people and that was when my accommodation problem began.
I started looking for who to buy hostel space from and people were just playing me. One faithful day I was so frustrated with everything that I called my mom on the phone, started ranting and seconds later I was crying. Instantly my mom started crying also and apologizing for all the struggles I was going through. It still brings tears to my eyes today. She wasn't with me but she didn't need to be there to feel my pain. From that day I did not doubt how much she loved me, I legit cannot imagine life without her.
The second woman on my list is my older sister. For as long as I can remember she has always protected, supported and been there for me etc. I guess that's the role of big sisters, she's exceeding in the role a little too well🤭🤭 We have always been close and I hope it stays that way.
Other women on my list would be my younger sister - who does almost everything for me and my best friend, whom I can always confide in. I love all the women in my life and to my beautiful Hive friends (the women) I celebrate every one of you.
Thanks for stopping by❤
