How digital currency has changed the world positively in an aspect of economic growth has been a good one. I guess its part of the reason Nigeria decided to launch its own (I guess)
WHAT IS E-NAIRA
eNaira is a digital currency launched to fight inflation. A digital currency to aid transactions digitally without the need for physical cash.
The CBDC aim is to allow financial inclusion for all, a way to have access to banking services from smartphones. But is eNaira the next step to curb inflation or just some move with hidden agenda (my thoughts) This bring me to post titled surveillance and controls: thought about Nigeria Eniara where he gave his opinion about e naira, not the solution
The ENaira offers no solutions to this mismanagement, corruption, and the entire devaluing problem and yet it is being marketed as a Store Of Value so that people can keep saving in it while ‘they’ siphon the juice out of it. So you’ll own a lot of nairas but worthless.
A government trying to ban cryptocurrency and now launching digital currency isn't that weird.
IS THIS SOMETHING I WOULD SUBSCRIBE TO?
For the fact, this digital currency is centralized and backed by a regulator (central bank). I feel there will be a very big concern when it comes to privacy because it will eliminate the privacy that cash provides especially with a government that has no regard for human rights. No, I'm not in support
Truth be told enaira is not really what is needed at least for the present problems we face. Having to take control of every citizen should not have been an option but then This is Nigeria.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE FATE OF CRYPTOCURRENCIES AS WE KNOW IT DUE TO THIS LAUNCH.?
With a mindset like my own, I see no future with this eniara because nobody wants to be controlled by the government and hence I doubt the citizens will buy the idea.
Nigeria needs reforming and launching eNaira isn't the right choice I just hope we get to be reformed before it is too late.
