Growing up,birthdays were never something that intrigued me. I mean,it was like every other day. That changed when I met Tobi. I was in my first year in University, had lots of stress and wasn't about to be bothered by another birthday of mine coming. Tobi had other plans for me. She came with a surprise cake which was baked by herself. She said she wanted to surprise me and boy ,it worked.
Since then, I've definitely had to celebrate my birthday in a little way. My silver jubilee's age wasn't going to be exempted. I was clocking 25 and I needed everything to be perfect. From my make up shoot session, to my outfit, to my hair, to the photographer. So many things had to be put in place and trust me to make an issue out of everything.
My birthday is on the 19th of June and I needed my pictures to be out before that day. I started picking a style to make weeks before the day so I won't be caught off guard. I went to the market to get my hair myself(this is because I've been cheated so many times and sold hair not worth my money). I just needed everything to be perfect.
The photoshoot day came and everything seemed out of place. My make-up artist said she was coming from Abeokuta(4 hours away from where I live) and the photographer was waiting for my call. I got confused. How was I supposed to handle the situation? Luckily for me, my make-up artist took a faster route and was able to make it on time. I quickly called the photographer and he came around too. My pictures turned out really pretty.
But that wasn't just the plan.I wanted a beach hang out, but alas, my date clashed with another ceremony so I had to just do a little party at home. I called my friends over and we had a lovely time. I made three dishes, (the special fried rice, Italian spaghetti, catfish pepper soup), ice cream, parfait, cakes, drinks and so much more.
My friends weren't having my little party alone. They wanted a beach hang out as we all got our crochet beach wears from . Mine was just perfect. The yellow colour rhymed well with my skin and she made my clothes so perfect. Yes,she's my best friend (
) so she definitely had to make mine best.
Everything went well at last. From me picking my outfits, to my photoshoot, to the house party, to the beach hang out. It was just perfect and I loved every bit of it even though at some moment I was just tired.
I've got lots of pictures from that day and I hold the memory so dear to my heart. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures too.
The Big 25 was and is still going fine.
