I have come to a decisive conclusion that it takes a lot of humility to learn.
A proud person is not teachable.
Sometimes, you may even have to learn as an adult from a child that is much younger than your .
It is only when you knew things, and trending topics, that you can become relevant in the society. Else, one may just be an onlooker.
To say the least, as an African, I understand that our virtues, our brought-up, and our background have imbibed a lot into us. Respect for constituted authority, respect for national symbols, respect for the opposite sex, respect for elders, and respect for human dignity. All these are to be learned, else, one may not be a complete member of society.
I put it to you that many of us have not learned all that is needed to live in a country like ours. A typical example is our leaders.
All before self
When we have the ideals behind the foregoing quote, then we can know the essence of living. Be on your way to learning what is needed to be a better person than you have been.
It is rather unfortunate that humans learn what is bad quicker than the good. Let it begin with you, for our society to be comfortable for all.
