Para quienes no lo saben les cuento que mi país 🇻🇪 hay dos épocas: una de sequía y otra de lluvia. Deberían ser 6 meses de una y 6 meses de la otra. La de lluvia debería estar en este mes de mayo y terminar en octubre. Lo cierto es que no está sucediendo así.
For those who don't know, my country 🇻🇪 has two seasons: one of drought and the other of rain. There should be 6 months of one and 6 months of the other. The rainy season should be in May and end in October. The truth is that it is not happening that way.
El cambio climático nos está afectando a todos y aquí hemos tenido más meses de sequía que de lluvia, al punto de que muchas plantaciones sufrieron y los agricultores perdieron sus siembras; otra en que la época de lluvia se alargó que tuvimos deslaves, inundaciones, etc.
Climate change is affecting us all and here we have had more months of drought than of rain, to the point that many plantations suffered and farmers lost their crops; another one in which the rainy season was so long that we had mudslides, floods, etc.
En mi entorno actualmente, la ola de calor que ha estado azotando al país nos ha tenido muy mal, por ejemplo: Caracas (la capital del país) se ha caracterizado por tener una temperatura agradable menor a 20 °C, ha estado padeciendo de los más 30⁰ y sus habitantes la están pasando mal porque no están acostumbrados.
In my environment at the moment, the heat wave that has been hitting the country has had us very bad, for example: Caracas (the capital of the country) has been characterized by having a pleasant temperature below 20 °C, has been suffering from the more than 30⁰ and its inhabitants are having a hard time because they are not used to it.
Por mi parte que vivo al Oriente del país, es una zona calurosa, donde hay muchas playas, arena y sol (mucho). Así que en teoría deberíamos estar “acostumbrados”, pero en realidad estos días la temperatura ha estado aumentando por encima de los 35 °C y nos tiene muy mal a todos.
As I live in the east of the country, it is a hot area, where there are many beaches, sand and sun (a lot). So in theory we should be "used to it", but in reality these days the temperature has been rising above 35 °C and it has us all very bad.
Sentimos que el sol está más cerca de nosotros y a eso le añadimos que muchos árboles fueron cortados sin explicación alguna y no tenemos esa sombra, volviendo nuestro entorno mucho más hostil. Los sensores marcan sensaciones térmica de 40 °C o más.

Caminar trayectos largos es agotador porque al no haber árboles en el camino, sientes que el sol te derrite. Esto está ocasionando en la población, irritabilidad, dolores de cabeza (me he visto afectada), deshidratación.
Walking long distances is exhausting because there are no trees on the road and you feel that the sun melts you. This is causing irritability, headaches (I have been affected), dehydration.
Hay un estado del país, llamado el Zulia que normalmente es muy caluroso, cuya temperatura normal pasa de los 38⁰C y han reportado con esta ola de calor, temperatura más altas y la población está al borde de la desesperación.
There is a state in the country, called Zulia, which is normally very hot, whose normal temperature is over 38⁰C and with this heat wave, higher temperatures have been reported and the population is on the verge of despair.
Las noticias nos informan que puede haber incendios forestales en gran parte dela país y tristemente no contamos con un plan de contingencia para ello. Esperemos que no suceda.
The news informs us that there may be forest fires in much of the country and sadly we do not have a contingency plan for this. Let's hope it doesn't happen.
Mientras tanto seguimos esperando las lluvias, rogando que no sean tan desastrosas, ya que aquí ha ocurrido tragedias, con pérdidas humanas y material. También seguimos defendiendo nuestros árboles y evitando su tala indiscriminada.
In the meantime we continue to wait for the rains, praying that they are not so disastrous, since tragedies have occurred here, with human and material losses. We also continue to defend our trees and prevent their indiscriminate felling.
Cada país pasa su proceso, vive un entorno distinto e imagino que en Nigeria con las inundaciones estarán esperando que salga el sol, mientras que nosotros aquí esperamos por lluvia que aplaque esta sequía. Así de paradójico es la vida.
Each country goes through its own process, lives a different environment and I imagine that in Nigeria with the floods they are waiting for the sun to come out, while we here are waiting for rain to quench this drought. That's how paradoxical life is.
Finalizando, Para que todo no sea malo, cómo dato curioso de mi país, les dejo que tenemos zonas frías, otras donde hay nieve, un estado que posee un desierto, zonas Montañas y selvática, también que es el entorno donde vivo que todo nos rodea el mar, arena y paisajes preciosos.
Finally, so that everything is not bad, as a curious fact of my country, I leave you that we have cold areas, others where there is snow, a state that has a desert, mountains and jungle areas, also that is the environment where I live that surrounds us all the sea, sand and beautiful landscapes.
