I really love this community. It is full of wonderful, vibrant people from all over the world and each week I am grateful to participate. The theme this week is Broken Heart, which I am sure all of us are familiar with.
My song this week is about Mother Earth having a broken heart due to the way we humans treat her. I had fun writing this bluesy number. I love to sing the blues but haven't really explored playing it so this was a good chance to try it out. I originally wanted to sing about my own heartbreak but, one of my missions as a singer and songwriter is to raise awareness and understanding about walking lighter on the earth, and the words just kind of flowed with this song.
The lyrics came about after a conversation I was having with 
On a side note, I bought a mic stand and phantom mixer to use with an AKG condenser microphone that my ex gave me. It connects to the amp well but I can't figure out how to hook it up so that the audio records clearly into a camera. I have very few audio engineering skills and would love to be able to record better sound than my phone currently pick up. Any advice would be great.

Plastic filling up the oceans
The fish can hardly breathe
Freshwater has become
A precious commodity

Now our precious mama's getting really really mad.

because as the old saying goes and now you've been warned
