First of all, I want to sincerely thank the Hive Open Mic community for the constant support and for keeping this space alive—a place where music is not just performed, but truly lived and shared. Week after week, it remains a blessing to be part of this family and to grow together through sound and meaning.
For this week’s theme, Resurrection, I felt drawn to present a piece that directly expresses the triumph and hope at the heart of the Christian faith. Today I bring an acoustic rendition of “Christ Arose”, a hymn composed by Robert Lowry in 1874, a powerful proclamation of victory over death and the promise of new life.
This arrangement is simple and reflective, centered on acoustic guitar to highlight the message carried in the melody. I wanted the sound to feel intimateand vibrant too allowing space to contemplate and celebrate the reality of the Resurrection—not just as an event, but as a living hope that continues to transform lives.
“Christ Arose” captures the moment of triumph: from the silence of the tomb to the glory of rising again. It reminds us that darkness does not have the final word. In the context of this week’s theme, it becomes more than a hymn—it becomes a declaration of faith.
I hope this performance draws you into a space of joy, reflection, and renewed hope. Thank you for listening, for supporting, and for continuing to make this community a place where music carries meaning beyond itself.

Verse 1
Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day,
Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever,
With His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch His bed,
Jesus my Savior;
Vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus my Lord!

He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever,
With His saints to reign.

Death cannot keep its Prey,
Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away,
Jesus my Lord!
Chorus
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes,

And He lives forever,
With His saints to reign.
