Welcome to week 53 of Hive Open Mic, the weekly live music event that gathers more and more participants each week. This week the topic is TOYS.
At first, I thought it would be too difficult to find a suitable composition for this week. Toys ... Also, my hands are still giving a bit strange feeling, so I thought I wouldn't even shoot this week, but it's better than the previous week. I have already played and recorded other compositions in the past few days, so Hive Open Mic entry will not be missing.
Especially, as I wanted to set to this post as 100 % beneficiary account ,( former user partitura, you can read here what has happened to him). I feel at least we can show a little bit of gratefulness and encouragement for all the support he showed us, all musicians, during previous months. So all the rewards from this post will go to primalamusica as a small sign of support. When he performs a composition, a huge smile can be seen on his face. So joyful and happy musical moments...my entry had to be something cheerful.
The composition I have chosen to play is Maple Leaf Rag, composed by Scott Joplin. His music is used so many times and in so many ways. I remember as a child I listened to his tunes from games, music toys, tv or radio. When I started to play the piano in music school, in my second year I played his other famous composition, The Entertainer, of course in an easy arrangement. I liked it so much and remember playing it at a school year closing concert.
Here come the first two parts of Maple Leaf Rag, as usually, those rags have more parts. Sorry for the bad quality of the video, I recorded it this evening, with no daylight, I know it is not the best, but the day was so busy.
