" F R A G R A N C E S "
Hello everyone! This is Nicole welcoming you back to . This week's theme is really interesting. I was amazed to find a lot of songs relating to fragrances. But the fact is, I do not know how to sing them and practicing them I think would take longer than a week for me. By then I realized that fragrance does not exclusively pertain to perfumes. I am grateful for this theme for I am reminded that fragrance can be found in almost everything around us. The trees, home, our skin, beach, aircraft, ship, pets, markets, malls, airport, cars, rain, mornings, evenings, even the four seasons of the year, and others. The list could go on that I cannot enumerate them all because the wind could bring countless fragrance to us.
Recognizing the fragrance to a certain thing or place needs our senses. It is not the sole job of our nose (sense of smell) but also a work of our sense of feeling giving signals to our head. We could either love or dislike the fragrance we encounter. So, I am excited to share my song this time which is "You Come To My Sense" by Chicago. I find this song figuratively and elaborately portraying fragrance to the place and things he shared together with his loved one. Old place they had been to is so powerful to give him the picture. It goes the same with fragrance. Though unseen but our senses tell us that a certain scent exists.
How about you? What are the specific objects or place giving you a particular fragrance? Do you like or dislike it somehow? I would love to read about it in the comment section. Without further ado, I am excited to sing now and I hope this piece is to your liking too. I would love you to sing along with the lyrics provided below. May the sweetest fragrance of love and warmth surround you!
You Come To My Senses (By Chicago)
Lying in the sand
Out of reach of my trembling hands
I picture you in the car
Blonde hair in the wind
I picture you in my arms
And the touch of your skin
The smile on your face
The way that you taste
You come to my senses
Every time I close my eyes
I have no defences
You come to my senses
I can't stop this ache inside
I have no defences
Driving home in the cold
January rain
I've got to find my way out of this pain
I reached for you in the night
I dreamed of your kiss
I woke before it got light
With your name on my lips
Alone in my bed
Your voice in my head
You come to my senses
Every time I close my eyes
I have no defences
You come to my senses
I can't stop this ache inside
I have no defences
Oh, oh, oh, oh
I picture you in my arms
And the touch of your skin
The smile on your face
The way that you taste
You come to my senses
Every time I close my eyes
I have no defences
You come to my senses
I can't stop this ache inside
Oh, I have no defences
You come to my senses
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
