aunque estoy comenzando otra vez...

Greetings, my dear Hive Open Mic community, I wish you and your families spiritual, material, and physical well-being.
In this 296th week of Hive Open Mic, whose theme is "I Will Return," I bring you the song "Hoy" (Today) by the Venezuelan singer-songwriter Edgar Alexander.
Seeing this week's theme, "I will return," several well-known songs that touch on this subject came to mind, and while I was deciding which one to record, my son came in singing "Hoy sonrisa mi corazón..." (Today my heart smiles...). When he got to the "I will return..." part, I decided to record "Hoy" because it's not very well-known, because it deserves to be remembered, and because the connotation of his "I will return" is very different from the other songs.
I'll tell you that from beginning to end, the lyrics are joyful and the music is melancholic.
I'll tell you that from beginning to end, the lyrics are joyful and the music is melancholic.
Today my heart smiles
today the sun has finally risen
everything is light, love, and hope
today my eyes shine with emotion.
Today time fell at my feet
today I have been what I wanted to be
today I am as I wanted to be
even though I am starting again...
I will try again
this time with more strength than yesterday.
Only then will I be able to show
what I have been longing for until today...

With its somewhat contradictory lyrics, this song is striking.
He has barely finished saying that today he is where he wanted to be when he already states that he is starting again. That means he is only at the beginning of the path that will take him where he wants to be. There is already a contradiction in a cheerful lyric that reaches us using the vehicle of a sad melody, and then this second contradiction appears. However, it's one of my favorite songs by Edgar Alexander that I know.
It also has some very motivating parts in the lyrics:
For example, when it says, "I'll try again, this time with more strength than yesterday." It's an encouragement to persevere, to not give up at the first hurdle, but to try again with more strength what we couldn't achieve yesterday.
Let's try again today...who knows, maybe TODAY is the moment of success.
