Hive Open Mic Week 295 – Hold My Hands (Cover) by Maher Zain)
In light of this week’s theme, “A Different World,” I chose a song that speaks deeply about love and unity.
We live in a world where people often see themselves as different, whether because of race, tribe, colour, or religion. This song is a gentle reminder of the chaos that comes from those divisions. But if we make the conscious choice to look beyond them and focus on the good in each other, we can build a world of peace, harmony, and unity.
A world where there’s no “Black or White,” no “Muslim, Christian, or Jew.”
A world where a Nigerian is no different from a Brazilian.
A world that isn’t “a different world” but one shared home where we all see ourselves simply as neighbours living on this small planet called Earth.
This is the kind of world I crave, and I truly believe it’s the world we all deserve.
Short Summary of the song:
Hold My Hands is a song that highlights how much pain and division exist around us, yet reminds us that we all share the same sun, the same moon, and the same world.
It calls us to hold each other’s hands, choose kindness, protect our shared humanity, and pray for a beautiful world one we can all enjoy together as neighbours.
Thank you for the opportunity to express the message of unity through this song. I believe little efforts from communities like ours can grow into something big, something that helps build a more harmonious world.
