MY JAILER GUITAR COVER
The inspiration of this song came from being harassed by some police officers. So me and my friend we went out to get some groceries and then along the way mum called that we should pick up a parcel for her. Still on our way we had a little accident with a keke guy ( tricycle), i think the driver was not feeling fine and made a big mess of himself cos he was strong headed lol..... so we left him and settled the issue ourselves to avoid anything going beyond the way it was already besides mum was already calling because the rider was waiting for us to pick up her parcel but we couldn't tell her what was going on cos she will be worried and angry of cos.
We left the location and went to the mechanic to clean up because mum will be so mad at us, after cleaning up the car which costed us N15,000 we now went to pick up her parcel and then when to the mall to pick up some groceries. On our way coming back the police held us and started harassing us. At first we never knew what was happening but they started taking advantage of us and boom we were on our way to the station and they kept us, took our phones and queried us. we kept begging and asking to have a call so we could reach out to our families but no they refused i was slapped and beaten for no reason, with tears in my eyes i was just begging because i didn't know or have an idea of what was going, i didn't do anything wrong they just saw two young men with a clean car.
Finally a young man walked in and called the both of us out seeing how pained we were, he wasn't cool with what his other mates had done to us.
So he brought us out, gave me my phone to call and i called an army friend of mine and he came picked us up and took us to the house. meanwhile all along my mum was so worried and not happy at all. When we came home she just looked at us but we had to explain all that happened. I went to the kitchen to cook something to eat for myself and my friend then i started singing and playing around in the kitchen. That was when this drop "ASA - JAILER" A NIgerian artist, so i picked up the guitar and did this cover and i loved it. The guy in the video is my friend Tonna. This is the lyrics of the song gotten from this website
Jailer Lyrics
[Intro]
Mmm...
No, no, no, no...
Oh yeah
[Verse 1]
I'm in chains, you’re in chains too
I wear uniforms
And you wear uniforms too
I'm a prisoner
You’re a prisoner too, Mr. Jailer, oh!
[Verse 2]
I have fears, you have fears too
I will die, but yourself will die too
Life is beautiful
Don’t you think so too, Mr. Jailer?
[Chorus]
I'm talking to you jailer!
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone
Mr. Jailer, Mr. Jailer man
[Verse 3]
You suppress all my strategies
You oppress every part of me
What you don’t know
You’re a victim too, Mr. Jailer, oh!
[Verse 4]
You don’t care about my point of view
If I die another will work for you
So you treat me like a modern slave, Mr. Jailer
[Chorus]
I'm talking to you jailer!
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone
Mr. Jailer, Mr. Jailer man
[Bridge]
If you're walking in a market place
Don’t throw stones
Even if you do, you just might hit
One of your own
Life is not about your policies
All the time
So you better rearrange your philosophies
And be good to your fellow man
[Chorus]
Jailer!
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone
Mr. Jailer, oh
I'm talking to you jailer!
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone
Mr. Jailer, Mr. Jailer man
[Outro]
I hear my baby say
I want be president
I want your money
From my government
What he don’t know
What he would know
What he can know
Jailer, jailer
Be good, be good, be good...
