A cordial greeting for all in this beautiful open microphone community. In this week #246, we explore the theme: "Christmas". I have the pleasure of sharing my interpretation with my trumpet of "Christmas in Our Hearts", a Christmas Filipino Classic composed of José Mari Chan. The lyrics talk about how Christmas is more than only gifts and parties; It is a feeling that is carried in the heart. It also transmits a powerful message about the importance of family, friendship, and love during Christmas. The melody is diatonic and I can define it as moving with a cheerful and optimistic character. The rhythm is constant and moderate with short and repetitive phrases. The melody was originally composed for a different song, and it was the lyricist Rina Cañiza who added the lyrics to this version. This phenomenon of reuse has been used in many songs, and is due to the versatility of melody. In some cases it is in parody, tribute or in order for people to recognize it quickly.

This year 2024 has been wonderful, I can't complain. Some expectations have been met and others hope to achieve them next year. Many times we want to achieve everything we propose, but the things we plan are not always given. The important thing is to draw attainable and realistic goals. When we have false expectations, we can frustrate ourselves and feel that we have lost our time. Now, what happened to me this year about my goals was very interesting, because I looked at a way to follow, and in the end I achieved something different, but with victory flavor. At the beginning of the year, I wrote in my goals, obtaining my associated title in applied technology; However, on the way I found two obstacles. As I felt in a dead end, I requested academic advice. In the end I was able to reorient my course, and I managed to complete some subjects that would lead me to the Bachelor. I did not achieve the associated title, but I advanced sufficiently to shorten the way to something greater. The most important lesson is that there is not only a path to success. I hope you like this week's participation.

Christmas in Our Hearts
Whenever I see girls and boys
Selling lanterns on the streets
I remember the Child
In the manger, as he sleeps
Wherever there are people
Giving gifts, exchanging cards
I believe that Christmas
Is truly in their hearts
Let's light our Christmas trees
For a bright tomorrow
Where nations are at peace
And all are one in God
Let's sing Merry Christmas
And a happy holiday
This season may we never forget
The love we have for Jesus
Let Him be the one to guide us
As another new year starts
And may the spirit of Christmas
Be always in our hearts
In every prayer and every song
The community unites
Celebrating the birth
Of our Savior, Jesus Christ
Let love, like that starlight
On that first Christmas morn
Lead us back to the manger
Where Christ the Child was born
So, come let us rejoice
Come and sing a Christmas carol
With one big joyful voice
Proclaim the name of the Lord
Let's sing Merry Christmas
And a happy holiday
This season may we never forget
The love we have for Jesus
Let Him be the one to guide us
As another new year starts
And may the spirit of Christmas
Be always in our hearts
Let's sing Merry Christmas
And a happy holiday
This season may we never forget
The love we have for Jesus
Let Him be the one to guide us
As another new year starts
And may the spirit of Christmas
Be always in our hearts
