Hi everyone,I’m pleased to be here
Here goes my introduction post
And it’s going to be an opportunity to share the ups and downs of my life.
My name is Nwankwo Chidimma Cordelia. I am a community Health worker but before we get to this point here is the story line.
I’m a native of Ebonyi state but was born and brought up in Anambra state. I’m from a polygamous family and the first daughter of my mother. I have 2 younger sister and no brother and 3 step sisters and 2 step brothers.
I was raised by both parents and loved by both. We are not up to middle class but we are brought up to be contented with what we have.
Guess my father married multiple wives because he believed children brings wealth but that didn’t happen.
Growing up I watched my parents toil under the sun and the rain in order to put food on our table. Towards the age of 14 my father got very ill and that made him to stop working. My mother became the breadwinner of the family. I took over taking care of the home while my mother make money for the family.
It got to a point I have to sell pure water at nkwo nnewi market so as to assist my mother with the bills. One day in the process of selling I saw all these advertising van that use to go about with DJ. I watched how people would come and dance and win gifts. I dropped my bucket of pure water and tried my luck funny enough I was a shy girl. But that day I summoned courage, cause I wanted to win milo tea for my family and milo books for school.
So I danced so well that I got what I desired but the sad story is I came back to where I dropped my bucket of pure water and someone has made away with it. God! How do I tell my mum that I lost my bucket and pure water in it. I started crying and people came and helped me search for it. Luckily I found it and the person said he wanted to prank me. Good, I went home with my bucket of water and milo tea. My sisters were happy when they saw the milo cause it’s been months since we had it.
Life continued that way till I got to SS3. And there was no money to register for WAEC. My mum was doing her best and I kept praying for a helper.
my sweet mum
One day, as I was coming back from school. I saw someone I’ve known since JSS1 but he left. So news got to us that his parents sent him abroad. He stop his camery car and I hopped in. We had a long conversation and he drove me home. As God may have it he gave me a cheque of 10,000 Naira. I was so happy, that will pay part of my waec fee. Immediately my Mum got home I told her, she said I should call the person so she can thank him. Unfortunately I didn’t have a phone and I didn’t collect his number.
The next day I went to school, after morning assembly, I went to take permission from the school principal so as to get to the bank and cash out the money. Permission was granted!
I got to the bank gave them the check and was waiting to collect the money. I sat for over an hour, I told them that I needed to head back to school since is school time. They said I should hold on. The next one hour I stood up to go the security guy stopped me that I can’t go. I was like why? They said I should still wait. Few minutes later police came and said I was under arrest. Omg, for what? Was the next question
You are surprised as well right! Ok
They said they are taking me to state CID Enugu that I should call my parents. I was like how?
Here is the story, follow me
The cheque that I received was a stolen cheque
The guy robbed a bank manager who was the owner of the car he was driving. And the cheque was in the laptop bag that was at the back seat of the car as at the time the care was stolen. That’s a twist right. Yeah but it happened. They gave me phone and I called my mum, she arrived in less than 20 minutes and cried her eyes out. She begged that they should release me but to no avail.
when duty calls
I couldn’t even cry but was so annoyed that they made my precious mummy to cry. Long story short, i was locked up for 2 weeks at the age of 16 was relased on bailed after I was found innocent. The parents of the boy was arrested and I left them the police station. The boy was no where to be found till the last time I checked. I wrote Waec and life goes on. We were left with over 150 thousand naira debt that was spent to bail me. I thank God for my parents and the trust the had on me. Cause the allegation was that, I was the guy’s girlfriend and that was why he gave me check.
Waec result came out and i failed maths that’s another struggle. I sat for another exam the subsequent year and made my result. I wrote JAMB scored 228 and was ready for post Jamb when my father’s health detoriated. I was asked to take him to Lagos for medical care and for that I couldn’t join others for post jamb. I optioned for collage of health, got admitted and was doing well in school.
As God may have it i got married to the love of my life who took over my needs and always cared for me. While in school i had my first son and that was like the beginning of my story. I have wonderful in-laws and they made nursing and schooling so easy. There is another twist here but let’s talk about how i got to hive.
I was invited to this wonderful spend HBD lunch date by where i got to know about spend HBD project.
I spend HBD in geting food and also learnt how to create content on Hive and how to engage on peoples content.
With the information I got, I discovered that it an interesting plantform and will be a member.
So I can explor and learn from others. Spending with HBD the first time and enjoying the meal while learng with about HIve is wonderful experience and I anticipate more gathering like this.
Thank you! And hope I’m welcomed?
