Hello lovely people.how are you all doing today. hope your day went well. i blessed God for the gift of life and for the privilege of seeing today.
Yea, so today I want to once again share my little knowledge with you guys on how i made this beautiful bubu trouser and shirt for a baby girl.
I achieved this style with one yard and half of a vintage material.
The tools i use in achieving this are as follows;
--- My tailor's chalk
--- My ruler
--- My tape roll
--- My measurement book
--- The vintage material.
For the trouser, i went on by folding the
fabric into two first, for the front using her hip round circumference divided by four with two inches allowance. this is because her hip is the biggest part in her body.
Furthermore, I input her waist round circumference divided by four plus two inches allowance and mark. from the waist line which is my starting line,i came down by six and mark which is the crotch line and I went up from that crotch line and mark one
point five for the hip and i also input my hip measurement.
Please note that, before you start taking your measurements, you have to subtract one point five(1.5") or two inches (2") on top with your tape roll before marking all your measurements.
Now on that crotch line i input my lap or thigh measurements divided by two. you go back ward by two inches and then mark your crotch curve.
Now if it is a normal fitted trouser you divide your round knee circumference by two and mark. you also divide your round ankle circumference by two and mark but because it a bubu trouser, you don't need to make it fitted, all you need to do is to remove just half inch on both sides and from that crotch line you just make a little curve there and then mark it down.
After that, you now cross check your work and if is okay, then you can now cut it without any fear and move straight to your sewing machine to sew.
Now if you want to add pocket you will measure two inches at the top and for the pocket opening you will mark 5-6" depending on the person's age.

Now I also cut the top or the short.i folded the fabric into two.
I took the shoulder measurement divided by
two i mark, from there I came down by one point five(1.5") for the shoulder slope.i connect it and then from there I took my arm hole measurement and mark
Now to determine your arm hole measurement, you will divide your burst measurements by six and add one point five to it.
After that you continue by adding all the other body measurements divided by four plus one inch allowance.
The full length of the top/shirt is eighteen inches.plus one for heming making it nineteen inches.
I also cut the sleeve.i just took the five inches on fold using two inches as my cap heights and I made a slanted curve just like a zigzag form.
From there I move over to the sewing machine to do my job.
So at the end of my sewing,am so glad that the bubu trouser and shirt came out looking beautiful.here is the finished work guys.
