Good day my lovely hiveans, how are we all doing today.hope everyone is bouncing great.this is your girl veemahfashion,am the ceo of veemahfashion world.
It has really been long since I post on this hbd community, reason is because I have been away for my church convention which I believe i mentioned to everyone and when I returned i was a bit down probably because of the stress.but by the grace of God am very okay now.
So today I have come to share my knowledge on how i made these three Beautiful baby gowns.
To achieve this,here are the items needed;
1)---- my tape roll
2)---- my scissors
3)---- my tailor's chalk
4)----my measurements book
5)---- the Ankara fabric you want to cut.
You fold the fabric into four using the biggest part of your body which is the hip
circumference divided by four plus four inches allowance.after that, you rule one inch at the top which serves as the starting point.
From the line you input the shoulder measurements divided by two and mark, you come down from where you mark by one inch and mark for shoulder slope,on that shoulder line you mark the neck width of two point five(2.5") and neck depth of three inch(3"). is a round neck,so you make your curve.
Now you go back to the shoulder slope and mark six inches (6") for the armhole. locate the midpoint of that armhole and from there go inward by half inch and then make your armhole curve.now from the shoulder come down by seven inches (7") for the burst, ten inches for the waist and fourteen inches for the hip and input all the round measurements divided by four plus two inches allowance.after which you make your curve.because is a straight gown.and it doesn't have allowance at the back for zipper,i only added a little opening of about foir inches opening for button so that the head can pass the cloth.
So after all these measurements you have to go through your work properly and check all the measurements you inputted and if their correct, then you can now cut them out and move over to the sewing machine to sew.
Now to cut the hand of cloth, will also fold the fabric into four, measure out the length of the sleeve, for mine is six inches, and then you measure round your armhole divide by two, mine is twelve divide by two is six.
So the wideness of the sleeve is six plus either one or one point five inches allowance.now from the top you measure three inches and mark which is the cap height and make your slanted curve to the top.
Remember to take your cap height on the open side and not on the folded side.you make your curve, come to the down part divide your round sleeve by two and mark and then mark your side line and don't forget to add hemming allowance at the down part and your sleeve is ready.
So guys am so happy that the whole three ankara dresses came out looking beautiful and elegant.
I also want to say a big thank you to the and the hbd community at large.you guys are amazing, your so wonderful and kind too.thank you all for always going through my post, for all your likes, comments and votes as well.am really grateful.God bless you all.
Here are the finished work guys.hope their lovely.
