Day 1 of Hivefest started off at this lovely building the Eye Filmmuseum
It's a short (and free) ferry ride from the Central Station done in typical Dutch style with many cyclists.
It was great to get to the venue and finally meet everyone. Many old faces from Bangkok, some new faces to old names I've seen on the chain, and some new names. The beauty of real life meetup!
I was so overwhelmed with meeting everyone that I didn't take many photos. Here are a few .. with
and her on stage presenting with
And luckily we managed to grab the TeamUK gang to take a photo. Here's the image credit to .

Let's take a look at this year's goodie bag. The official bag is red this year with the white logo. Simple and clear. We also got a second one from Ecency.
Inside we got the first paper edition of the HiQ Magazine from . I had a quick glance at it last night, it's really professionally done and has loads of interesting chain content. I'm going to read it on the plane back. Next is a T-shirt from
, and there's a phone holder. That's the round thing you stick to the back of your mobile phone. I also got a casino chip from elmerlin with a QR code that takes me to the Liketu mobile app. Need to check that out later. Then there's an official Hive water bottle. Good choice of merch!
And finally there's a bunch of stickers and flyers. and
are two projects that I haven't heard of before, need to check them out (so many things to check out after Hivefest).
And there's also something from Pinmapple. We have done a treasure hunt on Hive. If you watched my presentation this morning about OCD, I have talked about it. There's 1000 HP hiden in a Hive account and you needed to find the key to access the wallet to do it...
After the conference finished for the day, we went on a canal boat ride. It's the typical touristy thing that you don't normally do because you think you're too cool, but it's actually great fun once you do it!!
The boat ride took us to the evening venue to where we played mooie boules. Before we went inside, I snapped photos of the windmill, bang in the centre of city, how cool. Quite a few others were taking pictures, but the few local Hivians didn't bat an eyelid 😆
The venue was really cool. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves with our own area to play the game. It's an easy game to learn but a little tricky to master, and the best team, team Peakd, won in the end, the prize was our very own Hive blockchain coffee from .
That's so far on my first day at Hive Fest. Day two (today) will follow, and I have made sure I got more pictures.
