This is my first time attending Hive fest and it was so fun! I met quite a bit of people on the first and the second day. So, I hope they are okay with name dropping in this post ^^-
Anyway, I went early to the altspacevr venue on the first day and it wasn’t open. The first person I met was the wizard , during the first day. We had to wait quite a while before the main venue opened.
When I was already inside the venue, I also told and
to come. Everyone started coming and even non-hivers who were quite lost and asked questions like, “ where are you from?”, “ what is this all about?”. To be fair, in altspacevr it’s kind of normal because there are some certain demographics that go there to learn English conversation. I guess hanging out around altspacevr a few days before hive fest pays off because I get to understand all sorts of things and even the people around the place.
I stayed at the meadows quite a while and had some conversation with non-hivers. I even met a user that I saw at the conference I was attending a few days earlier and told her about hive. The leaflets explainer sort of helps to explain to non-hivers what hive is and I was there to also tell them extra information about it since the leaflets are just the main points. Then, I walked around and teleported to the main stage to check out the presentation. I didn’t really take much pictures unfortunately. Next thing I know, I also met and was expecting to see
too.
Then I met and we got to visit the nft showroom together and noticed some interesting artworks there, we both wondered about the 20 minutes of artwork that was displayed as well. I also met
and the three of us hung around the nft showroom then moved on to the venue hologram against humanity.
Hologram against humanity is what left an impression on me the most, funnily enough. I really enjoyed being there and played the game with other hivers! From day 1 to day 2, after checking out the meadows, the main stage, I stayed there until 5 AM my time and the second day was until 7 AM my time. The game is hilarious and really fun when played with others. I often got the nastiest cards and loved to use them haha. The first day I had 5 wins until I had to restart the game. The second day was the same and I saw a high score of 11 wins which I think was the highest record!
We broke the game a couple of times too and it was funny. Now that I think about it, I really spent more of my time there than the other venues. Then I also got the chance to visit other venues like the beach in one of those teleport machines.
Have you managed to check other venues too?
I met a lot of people, especially from holograms against humanity. I got to see too
, and
which I thought was a guy all along and others. The second day, the last standing who played there were
and this guy who got 11 wins and some other I forgot the username. So, if you spot this post, come say hi!
Finally here are some of the pictures in my gallery that I managed to take !
I hope to see IRL as soon as the border opens. The last time I was there, I couldn't see her. So I am looking forward to meet her.
A selfie with . I saw
too but forgot to take selfie.
This was on the first day ! sadly I didn't take one during the second day as well.
So, that's a wrap. I know I missed many things and sorry if I met you and didn't tag you here. Anyway, I'll read and come say hi around #hivefest tag!
