Hello 👋, Do you know my Dad was my favorite person while growing up?
Yes my dad was my right man when I was growing up, while growing up I struggled with so many things, both academically, physically and mentally, I was this little girl that is so shy and can't express myself, this affected my relationship with people so much.
I couldn't find friends who would love me the way I am, my mom was so upset, she always complained that I will not be able to cope with life challenges if I become an adult, but my Dad saw a different person in me, he always reassured my mom that I will get better.
Growing up, I asked silly questions that can upset anyone but my father rarely gets angry with him, I get to learn a lot about life from him.
My dad was my confidant, most times when I make mistakes I will quickly run to him so that he will cover me up, he will always have one reason to convince my mom that I didn't do it intentionally.
Privately he would scold me, he will tell me how he feels about my behavior, he assured me of his love.
One day I broke five plates while washing the dishes, and I broke a lantern glove, I ran to him and told him, he flogged me and I cried so much, when my mom came back home he told her that he mistakenly feel down and broke the plates and lantern glass, it was years later that my mom get to know the truth.
My father really helped me to build self confidence, he helped me to find the beauty in me and build self esteem, gradually I was able to leave that shell of shyness and I can speak to anyone at anytime.
Sadly I can't share my father's current picture here because he's sick and I don't have any old pictures on my phone
Yes my father is old but those memories can never be forgotten, he was a father and a friend to me, He showed me love beyond fatherly love, till date I call him My Right Man and he will always be my right man, the best father ever.
