Hopping Madness
This week I went to learn a dance
The Teacher - he was excited
He welcomed us with open arms
Couldn't wait to get us started
He grabs his partner by the hand
He twirls her all around
"This is what you'll all look like"
I watch on without a sound 👀
The dance is called the Lindy Hop
It's very energetic
There's lots of bouncing up and down
A bit like calisthenics
This may be more than I can manage
As I'm quite old and frumpy
Hopping is a thing of the past
Coz my bodies fairly lumpy
After leaping around for half an hour
I break out in a sweat
My hair is plastered to my head
More attractive, I couldn't get
My hearts a beating double time
Way too fast for sure
If I can't make it slow down soon
I'm gona wind up on the floor
The first lesson nears it's end
My face is alarmingly red 🥵
My hopping more resembles a shuffle
Now I'm off home to bed
