Do you know something my dear Hivian friends? Life can really be a "bitch" sometimes.
Have you ever ridden a bicycle along a rough and bumpy dusty road, hitting humps and capsizing into the dust, then picking oneself up, dusting oneself off ready to continue on one's journey only to fall into a ditch.
Well!!... that's exactly how I've been feeling at the beginning of this New Year,
Starting off with minor health issues which is under control now; then having to say good by to my second mom, Aunty Lilly my dear friend 's mother whom has been part of my life for the past 40 + years.
She was the most amazing woman I knew, we had lots of laughs and even cried together at times, she had so much wisdom, never heard her say a bad word against anyone.
I remember hubby and I went away with Lizelle and Arthur and Mom Lilly down the South Coast a couple of years ago. It was a hot evening and Lizelle and I decided to go for a walk around the Holiday Park and came back after dark.
Oh boy.... were we in trouble. Aunty Lilly was so cross with us for causing her concern, giving us a long lecture for an hour like two teenage school kids missing their curfew, she wasn't mad for long though, everything was forgiven and forgotten the next day.
She was a tiny woman, oh my word!!....as the saying goes, "Dynamite comes in small packages" Lol! I'm telling you, could she explode!, one couldn't help loving her to bits, Aunty Lilly was the kindest and most loving person on this earth and will be sorely missed.
I have so many fond memories of her, I could write a book.
You are forever in my heart Aunty Lilly, I will never forget you, you gave me the best friend I could ever ask for in your daughter Lizelle.

The next bump in the road
It was a few days later when I read a message on Facebook from Hubby's cousin Derick, saying that he was in terrible pain and couldn't take it any more and was going to end it all, my heart sank, "Not another bump in the road" I thought.
I know he had suffered a lot with hemophilia through out his life ,but despite that he was always a jolly person full of fun and always positive; he never married, being an independent person, lived alone with his dog.
Hubby phoned Derick's sister in Pretoria who confirmed the terrible news.
He had fallen a year or so ago and broke his hip; due to covid he couldn't have an operation which caused him terrible pain, he couldn't take it any more, and, like he said, he ended it all, we never got to say good-by, which saddens my heart.
Mental health is so real, depression can destroy one's soul, I believe Derick called out for help, that's why he put it on Facebook, sadly it was to late when his sister got to him. We don't really know what goes on in someone else's mind, even if they seem happy and carefree, they may be dying inside.
My moto is, "Always be kind to someone else", you never know what they're going through.
So!... another bump in the road threw me off my bicycle.

I hope that rough and dusty road is at the end now and I get to ride on a smooth one from now on.
I think I'll park my bicycle and walk Lol!!
At the start of 2022, I had to say good-by to two amazing people, rest in peace in your forever home.
Be kind to yourself and others.
