When I think of memorable meals, those special dishes we don't usually eat every day, many ideas come to mind. However, I think the one I remember most clearly was an orange dessert I tried at a family party. I had never tasted anything like it before. It was delicious and very unique because they had somehow subjected the orange peel to a process to make it edible, and it didn't taste sour or bitter at all. On the contrary, it was sweet, and it also served as a container for the cream on top. It's hard to explain, but the feeling I got was like eating a delicacy fit for the gods 😄 However, that was many years ago, and I don't have any photos from that moment, but I'll leave a reference here so you know what I'm talking about.
Cuando pienso en comidas memorables, esas comidas especiales que no solemos comer todos los días se me vienen muchas ideas a la mente, sin embargo creo que la que recuerdo con más exactitud fue un postre de naranja que probé en una fiesta familiar, yo nunca había probado algo así antes, era delicioso y muy particular ya que de alguna manera sometieron la cáscara de la naranja a un proceso para hacerla comestible y no sabía ácida o amarga en lo absoluto, al contrario, estaba dulce, y además servía como recipiente para la crema que llevaba encima, es algo difícil de explicar pero la sensación que me dio fue de estar comiendo un manjar de dioses 😄 sin embargo eso fue hace muchísimos años y no conservo fotos de ese momento, pero por aquí les dejaré una referencia para que sepan de lo que les hablo.
But the other memorable meal I recall is an excellent and wonderful roast chicken I had last year on Mother's Day. That day, my nephew came to pick up all his aunts so we could celebrate together at a restaurant, and we had a lovely experience there. First of all, the chicken tasted delicious; I liked the blend of spices they used, and I noticed they had added oregano, something I hadn't seen at other restaurants where I've eaten. But what I enjoyed most was the wonderful company of my family (my nephews and my sisters). We laughed a lot, joked around, and even had the luxury of riding in the back of my nephew's truck, which he modified to make it more comfortable for us.
Pero la otra comida memorable que recuerdo es un excelente y maravilloso pollo asado que probé el año pasado durante el día de las madres. Ese día mi sobrino vino a buscar a todas sus tías para ir a celebrar juntos en un restaurante, así que vivimos una grata experiencia allí. En primer lugar el sabor del pollo era delicioso, me gustó la mezcla de especias que usaron y noté que le habían puesto orégano, algo que no había detectado en los otros restaurantes donde he comido, pero lo que más disfruté fue la maravillosa compañía de mi familia (mis sobrinos y mis hermanas) nos reímos muchísimo, bromeamos y hasta nos dimos el lujo de viajar en la parte de atrás de la camioneta de mi sobrino, la cuál él adaptó para hacerla más cómoda para nosotras.
As the wind tousled our hair, we felt like young girls again and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food (the roast chicken) was delicious, and I truly savored it because, as I mentioned, the flavor far surpassed that of other restaurants. But I also thoroughly enjoyed the experience of having fun like I hadn't in a long time.
Mientras ele viento iba alborotando nuestro cabello nos sentimos de nuevo como unas jovencitas y los disfrutamos mucho. La comida (el pollo asado) estaba riquísimo y de verdad lo disfruté porque como les dije, el sabor superó por mucho el de otros restaurantes, pero también disfruté la experiencia de divertirme como no lo había hecho en mucho tiempo.
