On Saturday we were invited by my cousin Barbara to her granddaughters event "The Big Sister Society". The concept behind the event is to empower women through guest speakers teaching all the ladies about life skills and more. It also is an amazing space to connect with like-minded women. Our guest speakers for the day included a psychologist who spoke about relationships and finding your power, an attorney who encouraged ladies to know their rights and a wellness coach who spoke about the importance of gut health.
We were so incredibly impressed with the presentation of the event, the attention to detail on all the tables, with little wine gums, decorative hearts, bottles of wine and mostly the colour scheme.

We also had a lot of unexpected fun as the weather was very unpredictable and kept drizzling on us. The attorney told us in their culture, the aunty would take a shoe and put it behind her back and walk around the area to make the rain stop.. so my cousin Barbara took her shoe off and walked around the area and before we knew it, the drizzling stopped and the sun was back out.
This same attorney was also incredibly generous and gave each lady who attended the event a free consultation at her practices. What an amazing gift to those who could really use the advice!

The tables were set beautifully with a bottle of Rose wine for each person to take home as well as a goodie bag with treasurable items and vouchers. This was indeed a morning well spent with many spoils.
Looks like there will be many more exciting times ahead where women can learn about real-life situations, money basics and personal growth in a friendly and unthreatening atmosphere.
They are also launching their new drink Bevi
If you're in Johannesburg South Africa, make sure you get to the next Big Sister Society event.
