Today I wanted to laugh at things that creep up on us!
Old Man Noises
The other day while doing some cleaning and other things around the house, I sadly came to the realization that I was doing something without even knowing it...
I noticed that every so often I’m making old man noises LOL
You know the noises, little grumbles or things like hmphhhehfhmpph when we are trying to do something. I was just sitting there and made this soft and low harumph type thing and I don't even know why I happened to notice I was doing it but I did and I was pretty upset lol. Not for the fact that I knew I was doing it for a while but it seemed to be part of the natural progression of being a man and getting older.
Now I'm not in the category of middle aged or above yet but I am certainly proudly born before the 2000's even started, how far back will be a guess of the imagination. I will say that I did indeed grow up before the internet and quite fondly remember connecting to it for the very first time via AOL then Walmart internet among others, but I don't think I'm at the age yet where I thought I would be making those noises hahaha.
It's an interesting thing to think about for me though, I remember my friends grandfather quite well and fondly, as grumpy as the guy was, he was one that would always make those old man noises as he was walking around the house or the yard! It used to crack me up, naively thinking that I would take many decades to get to a point where that was going to happen. The many decades apparently wasn't long enough hahaha. I apparently start making those noises right about now, starting within the last year or so I would reckon.
I don't entirely mind it because obviously I need to make the noises for one reason or another. Getting up from the table? Give yourself a "humph" and a push of your knee to get up! Getting up off the floor? Give yourself an even bigger "harumph" to get up. It's funny now that I'm looking back on it and I'm sure my son laughs in his mind when he see's me doing those things, or I've been doing it for so long that it's just completely normal to him lol.
The pictures included here may be more along the lines of me feeling the age LOL I know I shouldn't but the old man noises that emanated from me kinda made me feel sad! Lol. I was certainly hoping for a few more years before that type of stuff started :D
I'm sure that if I asked my wife she'd be able to roll her eyes and say yeah you've been making old man noises for "x" number of years now. I guess I should be a proud old man!
One thing I'm holding onto is that I'm not going grey yet! I've grown a full bear for the first time in my life and although it's not really big yet, it's big enough that you can clearly see the brown hairs everywhere and I don't see any grey's yet. Score in that regard hahaha so not too old just yet! :D
