The trip back to my hometown and staying with my cousin was wonderful. But I'm back home now. Got home Wednesday afternoon. Was going to rest on Thursday. But we decided the lawn needed care. So I mowed with the riding mower. Wife mowed the backyard with the push mower. Team work in action. Knocked it out in no time.
Rest of the day was spent resting. Had to. Wasn't used to all the movement during my time away. It's okay though. I plan to keep it up. It feels good to be moving again.
Friday I removed the battery from my truck. Seems to have gone bad. Plan to take it in and buy a new one today. Need to start running the truck more and getting my wife to drive it. I think that's why the battery probably went bad. Just sitting there. Not being used.
Kind of a metaphor if you think about it.
Managed to clear some things out of the garage. Making progress there. Father in law spent the night on his way through town. I grilled hamburgers and sausages for dinner. Not a bad end to the day.
Had an appointment with my VA counselor Friday as well. Was nice to tell them I really feel I don't need to talk to them as much anymore. Call lasted less than 15 minutes. That's progress.
Yeah, life is good in many ways. In others it stinks. But they're first world issues and will be dealt with.
Of course it's almost 3 AM and I'm wide awake. Can't wait for the sun to rise and the day to begin. Got shit to do now. Even ordered me some Sketchers walking shoes. The ones I have are not very comfortable for walking. Can't wait to put them to work.
I promised myself I'd start moving more when the weather warmed up. I'm keeping that promise. Some days are harder than others. Some days the body doesn't cooperate. But I'm doing it.
That's enough for now.
I should be getting back in the groove of commenting and posting again soon. Been busy living life. That's what matters. But I've missed being around here.
Thanks for reading,
Joe
