It finally got me.
All these years I avoided it. From the Pandemic to the several variants. Everyone around me seemed to be getting sick. Somehow the wife and I dodged it every time. Not anymore. COVID finally caught up with me.
Day five was yesterday. Still isolating in my own house like a quarantined lab rat.
The body aches kicked my ass at first. That seemed to be the worst of it so far. Every joint and muscle just throbbing. Spent some quality time sitting and contemplating life in the bathroom if you know what I mean. Good times.
Otherwise the symptoms have been moderate. Lots of fatigue, body aches, bathroom Olympics. The usual bullshit. No hospital though thankfully. No respirator or breathing tube for me. Just miserable. I will take it.
I was worried it would really knock me down because of all my other health challenges. Figured if COVID got me it would hit hard. So far it hasn't been as bad as I feared. I think catching it early made the difference. I got the viral meds from the VA and started treatment right away. Just rest, water. and more rest. Not much else you can do. Of course I fiddled around oN Hive and still studied some.
Feeling a little better now but still tired and achy. I'm not out of the woods yet. Still stuck inside while winter is on outside. Snow is still on the ground. But it is warming up. And me sitting here waiting to test negative so I can rejoin the world.
Could be worse. I keep reminding myself of that. It's annoying but it's true. Almost through this. Few more days. Then back to normal. Whatever normal is anymore.

Joe
