I've been meaning to sit down and write for days, and it's not that I haven't posted on Hive lately, but I haven't had time to sit down and write about what's on my mind. The last few days have been a whirlwind of activities. It's only a few months until my son graduates from high school.
This past weekend has been so hectic, one of those weekends where we need another one to rest. We have been organizing a market for the events at school to raise funds for the graduation. We are taking advantage of the fact that things are slowly getting back to normal, and the concert season that the school organizes at the end of each term has been scheduled for the first time since the pandemic started. It has been a lot of work but nice to have normality again.
Next weekend promises to be the same. And even though I'm exhausted, I'm enjoying every minute of it. I will have time to rest in a few months, and then I will probably miss the hustle of these days.
This morning I was looking at lots of pictures of my son's school years. I need to select the ones I will send to those who are compiling the photos for the yearbook. So during the day, I've been getting a bit nostalgic.
“Nostalgia is simply the result of aging and liking the life you've lived. Be happy you can feel it it's a good sign.” - Anthony Marais.
So, between nostalgia and memories, today, I sat down to write in a cafe while I was waiting for my son to come out of a consultation. I wrote this first on paper and pen. I haven't done it in a long time. A nice feeling, by the way.
I didn't care the coffee I had, wasn't the best. I have written this post. And I had a very productive hour without any distractions. And without being a multitasker. I have also made a list of my son's school moments that I would like to send in for the yearbook.
And since I also have a lot of video material. I thought it could be nice to edit a short video to give to my son for his birthday in a couple of weeks. I know he will love to have it when he moves abroad in some months. So I think the hubby will have some extra work to do.
And I should do this thing of going out to write in a cafe more often.
On our way home, we stopped at a nursery. I needed to buy some compost for my tomato plant. It has several fruits, and I need to fertilize and prune it. Also, I had to stop and admire the orchids. I haven't had any at home for a long time.
I had my eye on these until I saw the price. For the moment, I'd better keep admiring them at the nursery.
That's all for today. Thank you very much for reading.
