About two years ago — almost precisely two years ago — we all started getting absorbed in the world of chaos, death and mayhem known as "Covid-19."
People were absorbed in the world of their computers, doing research... and being glued to the news, and generally burrowing down inside this frightening and deadly new thing. We watched the financial markets come crashing down and soon enough started surfing the wave of fear served up by the news media.
I find it somewhat ironic that here we are — two years later — arriving at a point where the whole Covid-19 thing was pretty much becoming "old news," and many countries were dropping their restrictions and declaring "Move along! Nothing to see here!"
We just about get to that stage where some semblance of "new normal" is on the table and then? And then Russia invades Ukraine, once again sending us back to our computers and TVs to hang on every frightening detail... once again watching a "deadly thing" unfold.
In this instance, it might not be in our actual back yard, but it's still centerstage on the world arena, for all to see and worry about.
Meanwhile, the financial markets came crashing down again and people are getting ready to surf yet another wave of fear.
I'd be lying if I didn't admit to having some worries of my own, but at the same time I have just grown really tired of all the fearmongering and have started casting about for some more positive fare to add to my life... or at least to my sphere of awareness.
The doom and gloom is pretty old by now! And so, I'm really more interested in things inspirational or educational or uplifting, these days.
Of course, it's hard to get away from... And I'm sure we'll be served up an eternal dose of "fear soup" over every small thing that happens in Ukraine for a while... and how it means the end of the world.
Well. Enough of that. Back to listing more stamps for sale on eBay!
Have a great Friday!
