Life is a brief intermission, between birth and death. Enjoy it! - anonymous
Sometimes no matter how happy you are life finds a way to remind us how precious life is.
Last Sunday I was out with my family to celebrate the twenty-fourth birthday of our family's twins. It was a wonderful lunch out full of peals of laughter. Everyone in the family was there enjoying the time with delicious food, celebrating life. We are even planning where to celebrate the next birthday celebration that we will have this coming month of April.
It was indeed the kind of Sunday that I always wish to have. A Sunday that is all about fun and relaxing. On a worry-free Sunday however, sometimes out of the blue, life will just whisper and remind us that it's not all about fun. That there is no such thing as forever and we have to make sure to serve life's purpose.
That same day, I received a message from a friend that her mother passed away. Just like me, it was part of life that she dreaded the most. A part of life that I thought I'll never get through. A part of life that whether we like it or not, it will come and there's nothing we can do to stop it.
Most of the time we are busy with a lot of things that we didn't notice that our parents are getting old, that we are getting old. We spend our time working, trying to earn so much not realizing that we let life pass us by. Yes, money is important for us to live but let's not forget that it is not the only thing that makes the world go round.
There are still people out there who are more important than money. Our loved ones are more important than money. We can always earn money any time we like but when time passes we cannot get it back anymore. There's no turning back when it comes to time. Let us not wait for the time that we will regret that we didn't spend more time with them. Life is short as they say.
Find time to spend with your loved ones. Find time to appreciate those tiny little hands that wave at you while you are leaving for work. Find time to smile with the people who greet you. Find time to answer that call from your parents. Find time to answer that message that asked how are you. Find time to smell the roses that are given to you. Find time to appreciate the small things that people do for you. Find time to say yes to that invitation that's been standing for too long. Find them to breathe and enjoy life.
Everything has its beginning and definitely, everything has its expiration date. Time keeps on running and so does our life. Let us not neglect life for the sake of earning, anyway we cannot bring anything when we left this world.
Let us not forget to live life to the fullest. Let us not ignore the signs around us that tell us to slow down. And let us not forget to say I love you to the people who mean to us. Remember life is just a brief intermission between birth and death.
And if you've come this far... I hope that I was able to entertain you and made you smile... and for that Thank you.
