For more than two years, the horse brasses at the bottom of our stairs lost their ornamental status.
They became the mask rack. I hated it. Yesterday, they reverted to their original function. On Wednesday, we woke up to the news that masks are no longer mandatory in South Africa.
What to do with the cloth masks? At the moment, nothing. The odd one may come in useful. But six? And those are just mine? I am not sure.
That was one of the things I did on Friday. I allowed myself a quiet day after last Friday and the previous two weeks. Other than the usual breads, I played with fruit:
Whole naartjies (mandarins) bottled in syrup with spices. The skin on, gives the final product a somewhat bitter taste.
Lunch was still a hangover of last week:
The last of the scotch eggs with a hot sourdough roll and butter and with a good dollop of tomato sauce. A dash of Worcester sauce didn't go amiss, either.
From tomorrow - perhaps even today - I hope to resume some semblance of "normal" programming!
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.
