Where to begin with this?
Perhaps with the pretty porcelain plates. There's a new potter in town. No, not a new arrival. Rather, someone who grew up in the village and over the last few years has, I guess, come home and is finding his niche.
I like pairs, so I had to have two. You'll notice the colours are different. I fell in love with both - and the mandala-cum-dream-catcher design.
Simon tells me these were not just his first attempt but also his first sale. At the market last Saturday. If they are an indication of talent and what he has yet to do...
So, I used them - as I do. Twice in a day, and filled them also with market fare for a #meatfreemonday.
First up, pickled fish. The Husband was delighted to discover that I had saved some that I had made for the market. For us.
Then, supper.
Trish's delicious falafel (from my freezer stash) and tzatziki.
All to be eaten off porcelain prettiness - with accompaniments, of course!
About the pita
The pita, which I began on Sunday evening, from sourdough discard, are the best I have made. Yes, like so much baking with natural yeast, one has to plan. And do the plan.
To coin an old phrase from the A Team's Hannibal: "I love it when a plan comes together!"
Post script: I am trying to participate in 's April #HiveBloPoMo. I emphasise trying because RL - and my day job - have been so busy over the last while that I've not known which way to turn. That shouldn't stop you - or anyone. Read about how to participate here.
This is Day 11
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

- lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on
