I think of Saturdays as earlier starts than usual. They aren't and they are: I am always awake any time between 5 and 5.30am. I spend the next hour or so diarising the previous day and finding my brain. The Husband rouses, we have tea and I stumble down the stairs just after 7 and eventually into the office between 7.30 and 8.30. Depending. Not so on a Saturday: I am in the kitchen by 6am (usually sans brain) to heat the oven for the bread to bake. While that happens, I either put the finishing touches to market fare or start lugging boxes through for loading.
I don't know why I took this 8am premarket almost sepia selfie. Big, floppy hat and long frock: the only way to beat the blazing sun. The bakkie was loaded and I was heading to open the gate.
Then the day was gone. Twelve hours later:
Sunset colours just before 8pm last evening as we had our ritual Saturday braai.
Spot Pearli and Rambo enjoying the cooling evening after a 39°C(100°F) day.
This is a good way to end a long, hot day.
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

- lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on
