Yesterday was the first real summer day, so supper was a super salad that went with a chicken off the Weber. Yes, I'm still bragging about my flowers.
The garden is beginning to do her thing with more strawberries, leaves and herbs. I could not be happier to see the back of winter.
Being a Sunday, and trying to catch up with things, I did a batch of koeksisters because I have a busy week ahead. I also spent some time doing some "village" homework: annual general meeting season is approaching and a few things are afoot.
Visible mending
I grew up in an era when when something had to be mending, the mending had to be invisible. One of my favourite jerseys (it's light and perfect for this in between weather) has had a hole. Thanks to a feline:
It's been hanging over the back of a chair since before, ahem, lockdown. Yesterday, doing something about it was on the must-do list.
This is the result.
Why, I am asking myself, did I not do it sooner? Which reminds me that I should share how my clever friend has turned some scarves and sarongs into dresses or tunics for me, vastly extending my summer wardrobe.
At very little cost. Best of all, nobody else has anything like them!
Until next time, be well

Post script
If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

- lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on
