Over a week ago, the husband was saying he wanted to plant more of the roses out in the yard because they kept flowering and it would be nice to have many of them around. It's the dry season for us and making them grow roots might take time so I told him about marcotting which I read from a fellow Hiver but he said the branches are too small to be marcotted.
We went out to see how to go about them. I observed that some had fully bloomed and the other buds were yet to unfurl. Then right there, a wishful thought suddenly occurred to me and I could not help voicing it loud - "If we could just sit here for some minutes and the flowers would show us how they open up. How cool would it be, yeah?"
The Farmboy laughed, uncontrollably. He was amused perhaps.
While he was at it, I took a wee trip trying to remember if there was ever a time when I caught up with a bud while it was unfurling, like catching it in the act while it bloomed. My memory bank said there was not a moment like that. Never.
"Do you want me to buy a video camera that we can install here so it can record some timelapse for you to watch at some point?" the husband teased further.
A grin formed on my lips but I stayed quiet.
In my heart, I kind of know it is one of the mysteries that flowers hold. It is what makes them magical. Yet that nagging wish or feeling remained - the wanting to see them unfolding, even just for a brief moment. Aah, that wish...
How wonderful it would be if we were to witness that kind of magic right before our very eyes, noh? Nature surely has its way of making us wonder.
Anyhow, these photos were taken on the school grounds in the valley. Much like any other flowers, Hydrangeas fascinate me and I just can't get enough of them when I see one so forgive me if I'm flooding my post with them, hehe! Did I mention we do have a few stems of them in the backyard? I believe to have shared about them here on a few occasions in the past.
They gave me some kind of nostalgia for they remind me of my grandma who loved to bring them to church whenever she attended mass. She used to have them on some vases too in her little temple and she particularly liked the blue and white ones.
Flowers, apart from showing us their magnificence and wowing us with their beauty, do make us reminisce about some events, memories, and people too.
Meanwhile, it's Christmas Eve and it's pretty solemn in the neighborhood. Soon, people will be at their tables to enjoy feasts not only of food but also of laughter and bliss.
And so here's to wishing everyone a warm, joyous, and fun-filled Christmas! Let's continue to celebrate beauty, love, and everything else that brings us joy and happiness!
Happy Holidays, frens!
