Woke up to this imagery (an embroidery on our quilt or duvet) which made me remember we are at the other house. I'm still dead tired like I have been into a grueling, physical activities that I can't even lift my own arms, lol!
This is often the case when I spend a day (or even hours) in the midst of many people. I sometimes wonder why others seem to suck out and drain all my energy even when I do enjoy their company. Aah, the very challenge an introverted soul must live with, a trait which sometimes can be both a blessing and a curse.
We came home Sunday afternoon and have been busy preparing stuff for Mom's 71st birthday celebration.
We had to do it in advance because it was the only available schedule for their church leaders to officiate the ceremony. As usual, family and relatives from both sides (Mom & Dad's) plus the neighborhood came together yesterday (Monday) for the celebration.
I guess that is one of the best cultures here in the locality that I appreciate much and hope that it will never go away and will live through generations, people coming together for each other's events - may it be for happy occasions (such as the one we just had) or in sorrow and in grief.
The challenge of such is the bigger turnout and that means the need to make sure every single one of them gets fed (and that includes any pet they came with, lol!).
The good thing?
Immediate neighbors came early to help in the food preparations, cooking, and then of course serving them during meal time. I always feel indebted to the people who often go the extra mile and extend their helping hands to us on every family occasion which my father seems to love hosting in a big way.
I'm thankful that everything turned out great, Mom's happy at 71, doing well, recovering better and so my heart feels blissful.
But I'm really tired... so for today, I'm allowing myself to be lazy... My poor body needs to recuperate and I guess that includes my mind too.
Thank you and I wish you a glorious new week!
