The university of life teaches us more things than a university chair because there is the practice, not the theory. Each student learns how they best understood the class and this is what we are leaving to our children and in turn to our grandchildren.
As a child I was very calm and very quiet, but I was very observant. When I became a teenager, I already thought that I was not going to raise my children in such a grotesque way as they raised the children of my time.
The thing is that I got married and had my 3 children, who taught them respect for others and among themselves as brothers. I was never upset with one of my brothers for more than a few hours and they are the same way, they can fight but in a few hours they are talking to each other.
My mother taught me that family comes first, we always met at her house to celebrate any birthday and at Christmas it was an unforgettable party together. At the time when my children grew up, they claimed their place in the house, not in the grandmother's house, so that we could follow the steps of reuniting as a family and with the new members, the sons-in-law and the daughter-in-law, and a little later the grandsons.
In all families there are differences, but love must prevail over all difficulties. Tolerance to thoughts other than yours must be present without the need for discussion, respect for the opposite thought even if we do not agree.
I have felt this transmission of lessons in my grandchildren who always tell me that they love me and that they miss me when I go on a trip.
Respect for mom, dad, brother, uncle, grandfather, each and every one of the members of a long family is only learned in the university of life and I feel very proud that my children have learned that life lesson.
This is my entry for the blog of the month contest run by the #silverbloggers community with the theme: Lessons for my (grandchildren) children from the school of my life. Love is not learned in a classroom, love is learned in the school of our lives.
