Being a Silver Blogger certainly does not mean you've stepped into a Retirement Home at all; neither are we silver stackers as some may believe!
Many of our members have a full mop of silver grey hair, while some are seeing the odd strand of silver hair showing up. Some will pluck those out or hide them with the help of a bottle of hair tint, which is quite ok but most of us embrace this new phase of our lives.
What is a Silver Blogger then?
Some of us felt quite dejected being kicked out by the corporate world only because we've reached a certain age, as we still have so much to offer while others are nearing that age but due to circumstances were forced to leave the corporate world.
We all are skilled in whatever profession we were in plus the years have taught us peoples' skills, a valuable asset to any company.
Some are simply enjoying the freedom retirement brings and putting their heart and souls into hobbies or traveling they never had time for and share it here with the wider Hive community.
We have some younger members with wise old souls, and the one thing we all have in common is that we are passionate crypto-bloggers trying to make our way in this new world as we share our life experiences.
Many of us have spread our wings and gone solo by finding new ways of supplementing our retirement income; Hive of course is one of the ways we are doing this, although many of us are hodlers, a word many of us knew nothing about until joining Hive.
Many ideas are sparked by reading our members' blogs on how they're making ends meet, whether it be small home industries, free-lancing, offering services in their specialty, or using some of their property to run a bnb as I've done.
Hive is a great permanent repository for sharing memories from days gone by, even though many of our photographs have yellowed with age but at least it's stored here forever.
Our younger Silvers are just awesome in sharing their knowledge with those of us who find the techno world real intimidating!
Take a peek at the Silver Bloggers description below and if you feel you're the right fit, you would be welcomed with open arms by our awesome team who will guide you in the right direction.

Silver Bloggers Description:
The Silver Bloggers’ community brings together young-at-heart kindred spirits and younger 'old souls'. The golden threads, in addition to a love of blogging and photography, are –
keenness to learn more about blockchain and crypto – we’re not digital natives – most of us were born before the PC was imagined; we ask “stoopid” questions
a compulsion to share our life experiences for storage on the blockchain for our children and children’s children
musings and memories of lives lived – the happy and the sad, the long and the short
planning for life beyond formal work – from leisure and travel to second (or third…) careers, hobbies that can supplement pensions and just what keeps “un” working people busy
From time to time, we will run challenges. To suggest and/or run a challenge, please tag one of our administrators or
or our moderators
and
with your idea.
I do hope my contribution to the fabulous Hive Challenge: Community Celebration run by has given you a glimpse into our 'young-at-heart' Silver Bloggers and how we survive/thrive/ support each other in the techno world.
