Four hours to waste! Very seldom
do I get a gift like that. I know I'm retired but there's always something to do. Good or bad?
Mostly good in my eyes, but is it really a good thing?
Nice being busy but we need balance and make time for "time" out😉 We spend our lives working from the time we leave school, college or varsity. I did that, and then just before retirement we started our Airbnb. Many, many years of working!
Why did I do that?
Was I still stuck in the busy mould? No, it was a practical decision as we had a lovely garden cottage that stood empty for a couple of years after Dad passed and it became too quiet for Mom Lily, who moved up to be with us. We did not want tenants.
A lot of work but it was the best job I'd ever had and we met lovely people.
Then Mom Lily followed Dad, and my darling hubby next - very untimely! It was awful, and the house became too big.
But the loss of my loved ones taught just how precious time is and that we need to nurture every moment!
Moments that become memories.
Do we use that precious commodity wisely?
Unfortunately, I don't believe we do! We allow the nuisances in life spoil our days, becoming wrapped in that.
I'm stuck here in a hospital coffee shop while waiting four hours for a procedure that I dreaded. Wasted much time worrying about something that is vital for a diagnosis, and is turning out not to be as daunting as appeared in the prep instructions!
I live forty five minutes from here, and am still relying on my brother to take me places as I'm not allowed to drive! But, this long wait has at least given me time to chat to you on Hive.
Wishing you all a wonderful week; and remember to make time to build good memories!
