Since I can remember, I have always had someone special in my life: my aunt, my mother's sister. I grew up surrounded by five uncles, three boys and two girls, but she always stood out as a beacon of love and unconditional support. Not only is she my aunt, but she is also my godmother, and her presence has been fundamental in every stage of my life. I am the number one granddaughter and niece in the family; after me, a few years later, the other grandchildren and cousins were born. I believe this has to do with the fact that my mom is the eldest daughter, and in ancient times, people sometimes took longer to start a family. After getting married, my aunt took eight years to have her own daughter, which also deepened our bond. Luckily for me, when I was little, my parents moved to the city where she lived.
I remember fondly how she would buy me things that my mom didn’t want to. Every outing we shared, every piece of advice she gave me, has left an indelible mark on my heart. She has been my confidante, my guide, and, on many occasions, my emotional savior. Her strong character sometimes led us to disagreements, but the scales always tipped towards the positive. Every moment with her has been a lesson in love and strength.
Over the years, my aunt has not only supported me emotionally but has also been by my side during crucial moments, even helping me finance my studies. Her generosity and dedication have taught me the true meaning of family love.
Recently, we have faced difficult times, as her health has been somewhat compromised due to age. However, every encounter, every laugh shared in December, reminds me of how fortunate I am to have her in my life. She is an amazing woman, a true pillar in my story, and I cannot help but be grateful for everything she has done for me.
Today, I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to my aunt, that person who has always been there, who has taught me to love, to be strong, and to value every moment. I love her deeply and hope to continue creating memories together for many more years to come.
