I stuffed the weeks up for this post, I should have done it last week but better last than never.
Any way other than the house which took me a bloody long time to pay off, This car is easily the most expense thing that I have ever bought My 2012 Toyota Prado my first $wd I mean 4wd. It is the smaller and cheaper little brother of the more well know Landcruiser.
I am pretty tight with money and I could only really afford a second hand one. I bought it from a Government vehicle auction place. My mate deals in a lot of cars and hates these sorts of places as The Government buy these cars with a big fleet discount uses them for a few years the sells the to people like me.
Love or hate the Government but either way it was the best option I could find with the time I had. It was a bit strange as this car had a set price and did not go through the auction, I suppose this model was very popular and would easily be sold.
At the time my son was getting right into 4wds so I did a few modifications to his car then did my snorkel, a dual batteries system, bulbar and winch on mine. I paid a local mechanic to do a lift and better suspension.
My son make it to the top of Australia Cape York on the telegraph track in his 4wd but my Pardo rarely sees any rough stuff other than the odd dirt road.
I should not complain thought its been great and we have done lots of trips and it has been really handy with lots of space.
Recently we have even had a couple of goes at sleeping in it over night instead of using the swag so it is very versatile as well. She is still going strong with a lot of years and kilometre travels and I am not looking forward to having to replace her.
